A1: James Jarvis

Whether in print or as highly collectable vinyl toys, James Jarvis’s lovable potato-headed characters have a devoted army of fans worldwide. We are delighted that James has agreed to present a session at Portfolios to discuss his life and work.

Watch Jarvis’ first foray into film, a collaborative work with Richard Kenworthy of Shynola, supported by Nike. View the film.

A2: Paul Arden: art director SOLD OUT

Last year saw the death of Paul Arden, maverick art director, photographer, commercials director, best-selling author and all-round creative genius. Arden had a reputation for taking a somewhat unconventional approach to delivering talks, once inviting a nude life model on stage, another time destroying a fountain pen with a sword to disprove the old adage about which was mightier.

We hope to stay true to Arden’s relentlessly creative spirit in this tribute to his life and work. While we can’t promise nudity or violence we can promise plenty of surprises plus rare footage of the man in action and insights from former colleagues including Alexandra Taylor, Graham Fink and Nick Sutherland-Dodd. Definitely an evening not to be missed.
